My approach
to counseling

I utilize a strength-based client-centered social-rehabilitative counseling style to foster optimal self, socio-emotional, educational, and vocational development. Client-centered or person-centered therapy involves a non-directive therapist exhibiting empathy, unconditional positive regard or acceptance, and congruence or genuineness towards the client.

The therapist creates a safe, non-judgmental, and conducive space to guide clients in making independent decisions and heightening insight and awareness of their true, inner selves. The goals of this practice include but are not limited to heighten self-awareness, enhance the client’s ability to use self-direction to make desired changes, increasing clarity, raising self-esteem, fostering self-efficacy, and boosting self-reliance.
